Dear Students, Parent(s), and Guardian(s),
Welcome to a new school year! I am very excited to be your teacher. My name is Mrs.

Medina, and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our class. ​I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and attended college at Mount St. Mary's University, where I studied Liberal Studies and English. I have had the privilege of being a part of Montague Charter Academy since 2005 (That's 16 years!) Together with a team of amazing and creative teachers, I am committed to providing the MCA community with a quality 4th grade school year for your child. 4th grade is my favorite grade and I love my career! My goal this year is to have a successful school year accomplishing the Common Core Standards.

Attendance:

Attendance is crucial and enables your child to be successful in class.  Please make sure that students have eaten breakfast and are dressed and ready to start their school day. 

Classroom Environment:

As a teacher, I will establish a positive learning environment. Students are informed of class expectations.

Grades: A​ ll students at Montague will be graded on the traditional 4, 3, 2, 1 grading scale. 4 (90%-100%) Exceeds Grade Level Standards
3 (70%-89%) Meets Grade Level Standards
2 (60%-69%) Partially Meets Grade Level Standards

1 (0%-59%) Not Meeting Grade Level Standards

Home/ School Supplies: Y​ our child will need a container/ box/ backpack to keep his/her school supplies and workbooks.

Work Station

Please keep all school materials in one place and location. Every child must have a quiet place to work and learn free of siblings, TV, and other distractions. The area should be a desk/ table with school supplies.

You can also email me at ​s.[email protected]​. ​Please email me when you can so I have your email on file with your name, the name of your child, and the easiest phone number to reach you.​ If we work ​together,​ the children will achieve more and have a better educational experience.

Estimados estudiantes, padres y tutores,

¡Bienvenidos a un nuevo año escolar! Estoy muy emocionada de ser su maestra. Mi nombre es Sra. Medina, y me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para darle la bienvenida a nuestra clase. Nací y crecí en el Valle de San Fernando y asistí a la universidad en la Universidad Mount St. Mary's, donde estudié Estudios Liberales e Inglés. He tenido el privilegio de ser parte de Montague Charter Academy desde 2005 (¡eso es 16 años!) Junto con un equipo de maestros increíbles y creativos, estoy comprometida a brindarle a la comunidad de MCA un año escolar de calidad para 4to grado para su hijo/a. ¡4to grado es mi grado favorito y amo mi carrera! Mi objetivo este año es tener un año escolar exitoso. 
Asistencia:

La asistencia es fundamental y permite que su hijo/a tenga éxito en clase. Es muy importante que su hijo/a se duerme a las 9 pm todas las noches para asegurarse de que su hijo/a esté listo para sus lecciones.  Por favor asegúrese de que los estudiantes hayan desayunado y estén vestidos y listos para comenzar su día escolar.

Disciplina:

Como profesora, estableceré un ambiente de aprendizaje positivo.

Calificaciones:​ Todos los estudiantes de Montague serán calificados en la escala de calificación tradicional 4, 3, 2, 1.
4 (90% -100%) Excede los estándares de nivel de grado
3 (70% -89%) Cumple con los estándares de nivel de grado

2 (60% -69%) Cumple parcialmente con los estándares de nivel de grado 1 (0% -59%) No cumple con los estándares de nivel de grado

Útiles escolares / para el hogar:​ Su hijo/a necesitará mochila para guardar sus útiles escolares, y libros de trabajo.

Estación de trabajo

Mantenga todos los materiales escolares en un solo lugar y ubicación. Cada niño debe tener un lugar tranquilo para trabajar y aprender, libre de hermanos, televisión y otras distracciones. El área debe ser un escritorio / mesa con útiles escolares.
