Michael Maar is going on his twentieth year in the education field. After graduating from the University of Arizona, Mr. Maar started working as a substitute teacher with the Simi Valley Unified School District. From there, Mr. Maar spent five years working for the Los Angeles Unified School District, where he taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Mr. Maar has been employed at Montague Charter Academy since 2011. He has previously taught 5th grade and was the science lab instructor before starting his current position as Math, Science, Health, Physical Education, and Student Support Services Coordinator. In addition, Mr. Maar is currently serving his second term as Primary Teacher Representative on MCA’s Collaborative Board. Mr. Maar has his Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, along with a Science Credential. He most recently received a Master in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from CSUN.
