Course Description

Welcome to the Fifth Grade, B Track, 2011-2012 School Year!

Student of the Month:
August Alyssa Acosta

Students in my class are expected to come to school everyday with a big, bright smile, ready to work hard. The students in my class strive for excellence. Last month we had more then half our class receiving perfect attendance certificates at our very first Student of the Month assembly. Attendance is very important. When your child is present in class he/she gains academic and social strategies and skills which build the foundation for their future successes. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make every effort possible to get your child to school every morning ON TIME.

As well as being on time, please make sure your child is wearing their uniform. If you are having any trouble supplying your child with a uniform, please meet me at school either in the morning or right after school and I will do my best to help.

**Students are aware of what their homework is each day. Therefore, if a student is absent one day during the week, they should still know what their homework is and be able to complete**

Homework is assigned EVERY night including FRIDAY. PLEASE don't forget to CHECK your childs homework before signing their agenda. When I see your signature each day it assures me that you are looking at ALL of their homework. If you don't see all of it, please DO NOT sign that agenda.

If your child forgets their homework or has any missing or incomplete work, they will complete it in the classroom during their recess time---however, this is a last resort.

Students need to be RESPONSIBLE for their homework. It is not YOUR JOB or MY
JOB, it is THEIR JOB!

Teacher Conferences:

I am free for conferences whenever you need to talk. Please let me know beforehand and I will make my best effort to meet with you.
