Mr Salazar
Hello! My name is Mr. Salazar, and I am the Attendance Recovery Coordinator at Montague Charter Academy. I have been working in education for 30 years. I enjoy supporting our students and families, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed by being present and ready to learn each day.
I look forward to working with our Montague families and helping make every school day count!
When I'm not at school, I enjoy my family and cooking. One of my favorite things about Montague are our students and the community we are in.
- Attendance Recovery & Chronic Absenteeism Program
The Attendance Recovery was implemented as of July 1, 2025 for an opportunity to gain back a portion of lost funds based on students’ absences. As the A.R.C.A, I plan, organize, and facilitate Attendance Recovery Saturday school, monitor students’ attendance and chronic absenteeism, contact families regarding absences and how to recover these absences, schedule and lead SSPT’s for students with chronic absences, develop and create a future school bus route for student transportation to and from school. Afterschool, before school sessions with Think Together and LA's Best hours can be applied for Credit Recovery includes Summer School in July -August:
- Assess data and trends related to student enrollment, attendance, behavior support, adjustment, academic achievement, and progress toward academic success and school improvement
- Coordinates the Chronic Absenteeism transportation intervention effort for the school through HOP/SKIP/DRIVE
- Monitor student attendance and academic progress to support early identification and intervention with at- risk students
- Participates in and/or facilitates multidisciplinary intervention teams, including but not limited to the Student Support and Progress Team, School Attendance Review Team, Resource Panel, and School Attendance Review Board, to provide coordinated support and intervention
