Bio

Like your children, I am a product of the San Fernando Valley. I graduated from Sylmar Math/Science/Technology Magnet where I accomplished serving as the Key Club president and medaling in LAUSD's Academic Decathlon. Miraculously, the University of California, San Diego accepted me where I double majored in political science and Latin American studies. I continued to pursue higher education and attained my master's degree in Chicano studies from California State University, Northridge.

I pursued my political career and worked for a campaign as an assistant director. We won the election. I also won my own election to the board of governors for the Mission Hills Neighborhood Council. At the same time, I was also hired as a field representative for a California State Assemblymember.

Yet, no job was as fulfilling as working as a 3rd grade TA while I was at CSUN. That made me love working with our young people. Thus, I decided to go back to school and attain my multiple subjects teaching credential at CSUN with the ACT Program and become an elementary teacher. Since then, I have been in the classroom helping to build the future leaders of tomorrow.

I look forward to accomplishing more of my personal goals alongside MCA's students as they continue to inspire me to be the best I can be. Together, we will study, struggle and strive so that we can change our communities for the better.
