About Ms. Tanchanco
Ms. Tanchanco grew up in the San Fernando Valley. From the time she was 4 years old, she loved playing school with anyone who would pretend to be her student. Her dad even had a chalkboard installed on one wall of her bedroom. Growing up she never lost the desire to have her own students. After graduating from high school, Ms. Tanchanco attended CSUN and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in English. Five years later, when her son was only two years old, she decided to go back to school to get her teaching credential. At the same time she heard that Montague Elementary School was hiring. It was 1996 and Ms.Tanchanco got hired as a teacher. Shortly afterward, the school was renamed Montague Charter Academy. Ms. Tanchanco has taught first, second, third, and fifth grades over the last 27 years. In her free time, she likes to go to the movies with her husband, read books, and visit with her son. This year Ms. Tanchanco will embark on her second year as an Academic Instructional Coordinator. She will continue to  help more teachers and students reach their goals. She loves her job and cannot imagine ever doing anything else!
